Thanksgiving Numero Deux

I had a special Thanksgiving this year. I went to Disney World with the whole family.  Daddy tried to make me wear the funny turkey hat from last year, but I was too fast and he was too slow.....hence the lack of photographic evidence.  Despite his perseverance, the final tally was Marin 1, Daddy 0.

I did lots of fun stuff with my cousins, Molly and Mackenzie.

We played on the sand during the day. I even made a sand angel.  Boy did I have fun, except there was sand in places of my body I had yet to discover.

I saw a carousel made out of chocolate. People tell me that chocolate is good, but I would not know....I am just a baby....although chocolate has milk in it, so it can't be that bad....right?

Before dinner, we were supposed to pose for a picture. Our agents said this was not part of the deal, so all 3 of us did the best we could to not sit still at the same time....alas, however, there was a brief second in transition where Daddy got this picture......foiled!

(I guess the final tally really was Marin 1, Daddy1....I can live with that, until next time that is)

I had a good time with GG too.

The whole place was decorated for Christmas.  I liked all of the shiny things on the trees, the sparkling lights, and the jolly music. Hopefully this means that Santy Claus will be coming soon!!!

On Friday we went to a place that had a very funny name......it sounds like a fruit I like....Epricot or something like that.  Right when we walked in, I saw this great big round thingy....I was hoping it was a giant piece of fruit, but no. Talk about a let down.

My favorite part of the day was seeing the choo choos go around and around.  I have been on a train before, have you?

Word.

Back to Mass-a-chew-setts

So, if you remember correctly, last time Mommy and Daddy took me to Maine, all I had to eat/drink was milk. (If you don't remember, I kindly refer you back to my blog entry of last year....as if I have the time to explain it...again). This time, however, I was determined to have it my way! Mommy and Daddy were much more generous in sharing their food with me this time, except I did not like very much of it.....perhaps I should have stuck with the milk thing.

Anyway, so my most recent escapade was (you guessed it) a trip back to New England. We went to so many places and saw so many people. On the first day, we met Mommy's friend Kirby in Boston. She was nice enough to also watch me on Sunday when Mommy and Daddy went to Julia and Craig's wedding. I was a very good girl for Kirby. We had fun playing in the park, going by the water, and walking around. I even liked her little doggy, Molly, too.

Unfortunately I was so tired at the end of the day, I did not get to say goodbye. Daddy took this picture so I will remember the fun day I had with Kirby.

Earlier in that same day, before I went to see Kirby, I went to Mike and Becca's new place. While Mommy and Daddy were eating and yapping away with their friends, I made friends with Benjamin and Ezra. There were lots of toys to play with. My favorite part was making a toy parade....in retro I had such a busy day, no wonder I was tired.  A busy socialite like me needs her rest if she is going to keep up.

The next day we drove up to Maine. I got to walk on the beach with Mommy and see the big ocean.

Daddy let me go jumpy jumpy in a 'tidal pool'. Tidal must mean small, because it was the smallest pool I have ever seen. I had a lot of fun making splashes with my feet, but I got a little wet.  Please don't tell Mommy because I don't want Daddy to get in trouble.

 I like being in Maine!

We went to 2 parks and I got to play on the swings and go down a bunch of slides. One afternoon when it was raining, Mommy and Daddy took me to an indoor play area in Portland just for kids.....I felt so special.

And then we went to LL Bean. I tried swiping Mommy's plastic to update my threads at the outlets, but it was a no-go. Hey, you can't blame a kid for trying.

LL Bean is like, way cool. They have lots of big kid toys there. Did you know they have an aquarium? I got to see some of the fishies up close.

It was sad to leave Maine. But, we went back to good ol' Rhoadie for few days before heading home.  We got to see some of our friends.   Jeremy and Kendra were so nice and allowed us to stay in their apartment on the water.

We visited our old neighbors Mike and Leigh, and Mommy's friends from Law school.....shout out to you: Natasha, Jeff, and Diane. We also visited Daddy's old offices. I had a fun time saying hi to everyone, and Lindsay was happy to see 'whoopie' as well.

We also saw our old house....it was very sad. I will leave it at that. Mommy and Daddy know 'zactly what I mean.

We like New England, especially Maine. I want to go back again soon.

As always, Daddy took lots of pictures and he will put some more up to see later.

Until next time.....

Bahama Baby

Okay, so I know I have been slacking and have neglected all my fans. I apologize for the delay in this post, but hey....I am one busy baby!

So anyway, last month I took my first trip out of the country. I did not think it was all that big of a deal, because I have been on aeroplanes many times before. Everyone else, however, made a big deal of it. I even had to have a special book to get out of the airport. The lady at the airport put a stamp in it, but I thought Mommy and Daddy told me not to write in my books?

The first night at the hotel I saw something called a rainbow. I liked the pretty colors. It was a special rainbow because we saw the end of it. Everyone seemed disappointed because there was no gold at the end. Instead, there was a wedding.

I get it.......the 'end of the rainbow' is nothing more than a philosophical metaphor meaning that the world is too materialistic and that life's true riches can be found in wedded bliss.Who said babies were dumb?

I also did lots of fun things on vacation.

I got to play with some toys in the sand.

I also spent a lot of time in the pool.

My favorite part of the pool was that Mommy and Daddy brought down a raft with a shade on it.  I got to lounge around the pool, put my feet up, and sit in the shade. The best part was that my serfs (um, I mean parents) pushed me around where ever I wanted to go.  All of the other kids were jealous.

Mommy, Daddy, and I had a good trip.  I liked being in the pool and being on the beach.

There are so many more pictures, that I just didn't have time to share. Luckily Daddy did the work for me and put them in an album.....you can see them here:

Many thanks to Aunt Susan and Uncle Farhan for spoiling me on this trip.....finally someone who understands how this baby likes to roll!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Last week was my special day.....I turned the big oh-one!

We had a party at a park on Lake Tarpon. Mommy and Daddy, and Beea, and Poppi, and Grammie, and Grampa, and Aunt Kerri, and Uncle Jason, and Cousins Molly and Mackenzie, and Uncle Farhan, and Aunt Susan were there too. The most special guest of all was GG. She had not seen me since Thanksgiving (I was only a little baby then)

Mommy made me a special cake. It was a big cup cake.....it was bigger than me!!!! Everyone kept looking at me and expecting me to make a mess out of it.  I initially resisted, as those things are just so bourgeois, but alas I am with simple people.
So I indulged them and dug in.....I must admit, it was fun.

After cake, I opened up lots of fun presents from everyone. Everybody was so nice to me.  Funny, though. I did not see Santy Claus this time. Last time I got presents, they were from Santy Claus. I'm getting confused. Don't bother explaining, just keep those presents coming!

At the end of the day, I had a good time being with my family.

Daddy took lots and lots of pictures....you can see some of the other ones here:

Father's Day

I had my first Father's day last weekend. Mommy said it was a special day. She had a special day called Mommy's Day too. When is it Marin's Day?

I had a good time with Mommy and Daddy. We did a lot of fun things. We had family lunch in the park and then walked over to the beach. I got to go in the water and go splish splash. This water is different than the pool and my tubby. It was warm like my tubby, but it was much bigger than the pool or tubby.  How many types of water are there? So far, I like them all.

After I played in the water, a very nice girl took our picture.

I love my Mommy and Daddy.

Go Pride!!

This weekend I went to my first ball game with Poppi, Mommy, and Daddy. We were invited by Coach Edwards to see his team play in the college tournament. Coach Edwards is a very famous coach and I was excited to see him in action.

I had so much fun!!!

I wore some funny looking things on my neck; someone said they were the team colors. I always do my best to support the team.

I danced to the music with Poppi.

He made lots of funny faces and made me laugh.

Enough of that, though....it's game time!!

The games were so close and exciting...I was on the edge of my seat the whole time (mostly because I was sitting on someone's lap)

Hofstra won the first game on Friday, and they played again on Saturday.
It was hot and sticky, but I was a good girl. Mommy and Daddy took good care of me and kept me cool.

Between one of the innings, Mrs. Edwards and I had a fascinating conversation about the fundamentals of softball and how that correlates to the strategies each coach utilizes during the tournament. We also had a lively debate as to which was a better predictor of performance: OBP or Batting Average.

Unfortunately, my girls lost and it was very sad. I don't like it when people lose, especially my friends.  I think the team should be happy that they played very good games.

I am looking forward to seeing them play again next year.
Next time I will have my very own glove so I can help them win!!

Until then, I will just keep supporting the team.

Learning to swim

I have been in the pool lots of times since we moved to Florida.  Mommy and Daddy took me to the pool yesterday and I got to play around and go splish splash all over the place.

It was much better than the last time I went.  Last time, some bozo made a poopy in the pool and everyone had to go home. Lots of people were looking at me, but I was good!! There was no poopy from me....plus Mommy and Daddy have a special bathing suit with a diaper in it to catch any misguided oopsies....so poo poo to you mean people!!!

At first Mommy and I played with swimming Nemo.....I hope I learn to swim better than Nemo. All he does is swim in circles.

He must get dizzy.
After that, Daddy and I blew some bubbles together....well, I tried to.

I even tried swimming like Daddy does

He said to try something called "1...2...Bubbles...Breathe".
That was just too complicated for me.......mostly because I don't know how to count yet.

I drank a lot of water, but that's okay because I'm cool.
